Detailed Review:
Before you purchase a Crosstown, you need to make sure you are getting the right one for your body type. There are three frame versions for this model. The 17 inch frame is for people between 4’8″ and 5’2″. The 19 inch version is between people 5’3″ and 5’10”. The 21 inch frame is for people between 5’11” and 6’4″. You will be able to find all three versions on the Amazon web store. Once you order the cycle, you should receive it within a week.
The bike arrives in a well packed brown box. It is fully assembled inside according to Montague. However, all bikes need some adjustments so you need to check all the parts and tune them up if needed. There is also an instruction manual present in case you need help.
Montague needs its buyers to get the product reviewed by an official mechanic for the warranty to be activated.
The bike looks pristine, with a shiny aluminium frame (custom drawn 7005) which is strong and durable, while also keeping the body light weight.
The engine features only 7 speeds, which is understandable given the price and the nature of the machine’s purpose. Since it is a commuting cycle, the seven speeds are still convenient and you will usually find yourself using 5, 6 and 7 mostly. The gears shift very well, with the shifter placed on the right hand grip, and seem to be responsive enough to be used in city traffic. Although it will not be winning you any races, the Crosstown still feels fast enough to enjoy the ride.
There is only a single crank set (front sprocket), but sever rear sprockets. The initial and last sprockets are not in proportion, which gives the cycle a high torque ‘granny like’ gear.
Montague has installed CST Semi Slick tires on the wheel. These are 700c tires, with a size of 28 inch. These are narrow tires, but due to their size they offer a significantly better riding experience compared to 16 20 or even 24 inch tires. The CST slick is able to perform on the streets and will endure pot holes and speed pumps, while absorbing some jolts. It has been manufactured to enhance your comfort and is an ideal choice for any commuting foldable, not just the Crosstown. The tires will last very long and need very little maintenance.
The Octagon is patented technology introduced by Montague on the Crosstown. This enables the stem of the handle bar to be adjusted to different heights simply by a press of a button. So now you can have your preferential handle height any time you want, without any hassle.
The folding property of this foldable is like in any Montague foldabes i.e. outstanding. The combination of the CLIX wheel release system and the FIT technology means you can wrap up your bicycle and carry it along within 15 seconds. The folding does need to get used to for it to be done quickly, but once done the small size your Montague takes allows it to be kept in any tight spaces.
Seating on the foldable is comfortable. However the narrow seat means that people with big butts will be bothered when on a long ride, so if it’s a problem for you, you should get it replaced with another wider saddle or at least put on a gel cover.

Conclusion:
The Crosstown is a bicycle that gives an incredible riding experience. While the design is the thing that hops out at you to begin with, it’s the ride that sells you on the bicycle. The aesthetics and measuring have been well thoroughly considered, bringing about a bicycle that you can ride for a couple of minutes or an hour easily. Quick moving and certain braking are appreciable on this entry level rendition of this collapsing bicycle. The collapsing is very basic, one of the most effortless out there. It’s conspicuous that the fold makes keeping the bicycle in your auto a breeze. That said, the mystery astonishment is exactly how simple the collapsing makes stopping and locking this bicycle at your most loved bistro or bar, paying little heed to how occupied the parking spots are. The minimalistic design with no exterior wires or cables is a turn on and the lack of maintenance this machine requires a huge plus. Around the city, wherever and whenever you go, the seven speed Montague Crosstown is everything you need.
