Are you craving some sloppy joes but are looking for a low carb version to fit your diet? This was me just a few short hours ago. The girlfriend and I looked around the kitchen and quickly grabbed some ingredients we had laying around and threw these together. From start to finish, plan to spend about 20 to 25 minutes cooking and if you are looking for more of a complete meal feel free to make a small salad (which the girlfriend did as seen in pictures below).
The Low Carb Sloppy Joe Recipe Delivery Device
Now when I was looking around the kitchen, I knew that I was not about to use the bread available so I had to come up with an option that was low in carbs. I open the fridge and found some romaine lettuce. I like to use these for hamburger buns or just putting on the grill with a little oil, so I thought these would be perfect. They worked out great and are the reason I call these Low Carb sloppy Joe Canoes.

Directions
Step 1: Grab your favorite skillet and start cooking all your ground beef until it turns brown. Since you are using a less lean beef, drain off almost all of the liquid that builds up.
Step 2: Add the green pepper, onions, and garlic that you chopped up. Cook for about 4 minutes so that all the vegetables become tender and juicy.
Step 3: Take all your seasonings (chili powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper), and mix it into your meat. Then add the ketchup and tomato sauce.
Step 4: Mix all the ingredients together and simmer it for 10 minutes on low heat. At this stage, you can make yourself a salad if you wish.
Step 5: Put your romaine leaves on a plate and spoon your sloppy joes into them to create your canoe!
Step 6: (Optional) Load that bad boy up with your favorite cheese and enjoy!
