Detailed Review:
You can buy the Vigor P9 off Amazon. At the time of writing Amazon is offering a fifteen percent discount on the product, which amounts to 120 U.S. dollars. Shipping is free all across USA. There is no shipping service for international orders unfortunately.
Once ordered, you should receive the bike within a week depending on how far you live from the warehouse. The Vigor arrives in a Dahon stock box in a good condition. The bike is kept folded in the box along with a set of pedals and a seat post. There isn’t much assembling to do and if you are experienced with bikes you can get it ready under ten minutes. A wrench will come in handy when you are fixing the pedals. In some orders there have been the need of adjusting the front wheel and handle bar too, however this is not a common occurrence. If you think that you cannot adjust the bike properly, you can go through the DVD manual to understand the process or take it to the bike shop for set up. You are required to get your purchase reviewed by a professional mechanic anyways, for activation of your warranty. After the tune up get your bike registered online at the Dahon website.
Once ready, the bike looks really great. The frame is made out of hydro formed alloy aluminium (patented Dahon technology) and is incredibly sturdy while keeping the weight very low. If you are used to steel frames, you will feel the difference immediately. The strong frame makes you feel safe and confident during rides. The polished ingo colour complements the parts installed and makes the bike more attractive.
The P9 has a 9 speed SRAM integrated which is very convenient. It is not the fastest bike naturally, however the foldable is able to go down and climb up hills well. There is no solid suspension, which means it is probably already understood that you need to keep off from jumping and performing wheelies while on it. It is after all a commuter bike for normal city routine and not a BMX. The Trigger shifter combined with the NEOS derailleur means that the gears shift seamlessly and gives you better control.
To support the speed system, Dahon has set up the WinZip V Brakes in the bike. These are powerful breaks and will be able to handle speed without giving up or softening.
The P9 runs on two Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tires. These 20 inches rubber circles are tough and durable. You will feel confident while riding on them, especially on smooth solid asphalt and pavements. They are not meant for hilly or uneven surfaces.
Unlike many Dahon products, the seat on this machine is pretty comfortable. It is ergonomically designed and sets up an active riding position, perfect for city riding as it and giving you an aerodynamic advantage. The seat has no pump installed internally which is a bummer as it is common on most new Dahon foldables. The seat post however is adjustable which comes in very handy and allows riders of different sizes to adjust to the bike.
The adjustable seat posts are complemented by adjustable handle bars, with the full extension giving you a very comfortable view and ride position to cruise around. You are not going to experience any awkward riding due to this facility.
The Vigor P9 boasts a V Clamp folding technology and is very easy to wrap up and take around. The magnets near the axles keep the bike in shape even when folded. You can fold, pull the seat up and push it around like a cart if you are not in the mood of carrying. The P9 has a small footprint and can easily be stored in your closet or under your table or in your car trunk.
The pedals are foldable and made of alloy. They are durable and should make no clicks while riding.
You can always customize your purchase with some Dahon gimmicks. The Vigor P9 can have a kickstand and a chain guard installed, which will come in very handy and are some practical upgrades.
There are not much disappointments to talk about when it comes to this bike. The cost it comes with seems too good to be true for a bike from a top brand with such specs.

Conclusion:
There are a few bikes which come with the performance the Vigor P9 is capable of and still be light on the wallet. Even fewer of them are coming from a brand anywhere close to Dahon, which is a leader in the cycle world. It is a highly recommended machine, able to fit in any tight space and be carried for long distances. It is able to ride on mountain tracks occasionally and will run like a beast on the city roads. The combination of comfort, speed, durability and performance is optimized for the cost it comes with.
