I have been biking around town for the past couple of years and have really gotten into the sport. I have a few different types of bikes but one of the cycles that is closest to my heart is the cruiser bikes. These are typically called a beach cruiser bike and the people that love to ride them say they are the best bikes for getting around town, riding on the beach, or going to pick up groceries at the store. These can be thought of as a beginner bike because they are incredible easy to ride, stable, and comfortable since you sit in an upright position.
Even if you own a car like I do, getting around town on a bike is a great experience. It is a cheap way to go pick things up but the real reason I do it is because of the enjoyment it brings me as well as all the health benefits. After a long day in the office, nothing really clears your mind than a nice bike ride home with the wind in your hair.

In the following article I am going to go over a few types of beach cruiser bikes and which I consider the best. Since everyone is different and may like a different style, the decision to get one is ultimately up to you. I briefly listed what each bike has for options in the tables above, but let me dive into short reviews of each one to help you better make up your mind on which one you should get.
FirmStrong Urban For Men
This beach cruiser is an excellent purchase. You can be riding this in a few days from now if you purchase now and the reason that I think it is such a great cycle is because of how cheap this cruiser is. This does not make it junk. In fact, this bike is really well made.
Simple yet affective, it comes with a very nice looking frame that reviews have said stand the test of time and can take some abuse. The frame and handlebars allow you to sit up straight while you are biking allowing you to pedal naturally without bending your back. If you want to make this bike a little more “you” there are different things you can buy such as fenders to make your bike “pop”.
If you are looking to upgrade from an old run down bike, this is probably the best beach cruiser that I would recommend. The price is right and the construction is solid. Firmstrong Urban has a few different options. You can get it in a single speed bike, 3 speed, or even opt for 7 different speeds. I personally think that going with a single speed is optimal if you are just going to be riding around town but if your area is not flat or you have some hills around, go for more gears to make cycling easier. If you want to ride your bike for enjoyment and not for exercise reasons, I would go with as many gears as possible, in this case 7. The wide seat is very comfortable as well!
The only thing you need to keep in the back of your mind when you pick out this bike is that sometimes the guard that goes around the chain can go out as the bike gets older. These are easily replaced but be careful not to get your leg stuck in there to avoid damage to yourself and the cycle. Always make sure to do regular maintenance on your gears and chain and yours should last for many years down the road and give you an enjoyable riding experience.
SixThreeZero In The Barrel
If you have a little bit more money to spend, you may want to opt for the “In The Barrel” beach cruiser for men. Many consider this to be the best beach cruiser you can pick up but it does certain cost a bit more. That being said, it does have the best customer reviews and people say it looks great (I tend to agree here)!
When I purchase fitness equipment, I always try to make a purchase that I am sure is going to last me many years. If that means I have to spend a little bit more to get a good quality product, then that is what I will do. When it comes to this unit, this is exactly what you are getting. It is a real quality product that looks great. When it comes in the main, there are a few things you will notice. First, it is very easy to assemble and shouldn’t take you more than an hour to put together. The parts seem strong, and look extremely sleek in black. Second, you will get a letter from SixThreeZero. I think this speaks volumes for their customer service! If anything goes wrong, I am sure I could reach out to ask for assistance from such a kind company.
When it comes to options, you have 2. You can either get a single speed bike or get 3 gears. I personally love fixed gear cruisers but if you have some climbs around your house, you may want to go for the 3 speed bike. Do keep in mind that the more gears, the more the bike is going to cost you!
From the reviews I have read, everyone has said that this cruiser bike is one of the most comfortable ones they have ridden. The entire point of these beach bikes is that they have a comfortable relaxing enjoyable experience and this is exactly what you are going to get with this bicycle! Just look at all those 5 star reviews on Amazon! That many people cannot be wrong.
Schwinn Sanctuary
It is normally the case that when you get more gears on a bike, the more expensive it is because there are more moving parts that go into building these units. The more gears you have, the easier riding around town will be, but the more you will pay. In the case of the Schwinn Sanctuary, you get 7 different speeds.
7 Speeds? I know what you are thinking: this is going to be pretty damn expensive right? WRONG! When it comes to the Schwinn Sanctuary, you get a bike with Shimano components (7 gears) and you will not take out a second mortgage on your house to get it!
I really enjoy the look of this particular cycle. It has a 2 tone color scheme, looks old and classic but is actually brand new, and has all the modern components to make it great. If you are someone like me who likes to shop at the store with your bike, you will love that this has a rock on the back to attach a basket if so desired.
Schwinn as a brand has been a long time favorite of mine. My first bike was a schwinn and I still have this bike at my parents house. The brand speaks for themselves in terms of quality and customer service so I would honestly recommend you check this out if you want to buy the best cruiser bike out there on the market.
Firmstrong Urban for Women
When it comes to getting the best cruiser bikes for women, this is high on top of the list just like the similar bike for men. There is really only a single difference that you can visually see which is the tube on the top cuts deeper into the entire frame which gives women the ability to ride this while wearing skirts and dresses.
This bike comes with two different wheel sizes: 26 inches and 24 inches. The frame as mentioned above is a bit smaller but should be a good fit for almost any woman over 5 feet tall.
What I really like about this cruiser is that it comes in a LOT of different colors. You can also get the same gear options, a single speed, a 3 speed, or a 7 speed. Single speeds are going to be the cheapest option but also the hardest to ride if you live in a hilly area. I recommend that you go with whatever you are comfortable with. If you are looking for the smoothest and easiest ride, get the 7 speed and you will not regret it.
The great thing about cruiser bikes is that they have large seats and this bike is no exception. The seat is large, and easily adjusted with the handlebars sticking back far enough that you do not have to bend over to ride making this beach cruiser one of my favorites.
If you take a look at this bicycle you will notice that it has incredibly high ratings from over 200 different customers. The customers do not lie when it comes to products they have bought so I would seriously consider giving this product some thought and then possibly ordering it.
SixThreeZero Beach Cruiser For Women
This is another bike that has an extremely high rating on Amazon. It has almost 200 5 star reviews!SixThreeZero is well known in the beach cruiser bike niche and the customers seem to love what they are putting out.
The customer support is nothing short of great for this company. With one person, their bike was destroyed by a natural disaster and guess what? The company replaced her beach cruiser free of charge! That is top notch and something to be respected.
On to the actual bike now, this bike looks amazing and has a really stylish design. It comes in a few colors and I think this style would look great with any woman riding it.
It has three different options for gears, single, 3 and 7 speeds. What are you used to riding? I would suggest you go with that but go with more gears for hills, and less gears for flat ground and you will not go wrong.
This cycle is a little more expensive than most of the other women’s cruiser bikes we have gone over. I would say that the customer service is well worth paying the extra price though.
Huffy Cruiser
Finally we have this awesome cycle which is probably the best value for your money if you are looking to purchase a cruiser bike. Affordable, looks sleek, and down right comfortable! This is all things I can say about one of the best cruiser bikes on the market, the huffy cruiser.
The design is incredible simple but I think this is one of the things that keeps this women’s cruiser bike cheap. You get a single speed, there are no other options (cutting costs further!), and then on top of that, you get a bike that looks great, is constructed well, and has a large comfortable seat which puts you in an upright riding position.
Go ahead and give it a look! You will notice that it is going to be hard to get a better bicycle for less of a price!
Wrapping It Up
After taking a look at all these different beach bikes, I am going to say that I think the Firmstrong urban series for both men and women are probably my favorite. They have the biggest selection of reviews to read from customers who have actually bought their products and not only do they look good, but they are incredibly functional in the real world. The company handles customer support like they should, quickly, and you can see from people talking about them that they are up there on a list of the best cruiser bikes available.

I’m looking at buying a Firmstrong Urban and I’m comparing it to the Electra Cruiser, what I was wondering I know that the Electra frames are angled back a little. Our the Firmstrong the same. Can someone answer this question
